The world of the 60’s was very different to the one we live in now a days. Coming from a long history of repression, the youth of those days was screaming for new ways to express themselves and enjoy their lives without having to compel with all the social rules that were imposed upon them. All of this together with the discovery of new drugs and the creation of new musical styles gave birth to a never before seen subculture that started to rapidly emerge, characterized by its irreverent style, lack of respect for authority and burning desire to explore the boundaries of this world. Some of the most important creators and leaders of this movement where in fact artists that in their personal search of freedom and expression caught the attention of other young people in search of the same things as them. One of the greatest figures of this times is undeniably Jim Morrison, a very troubled poet and singer that threw his lyrics and performance revolutionized not only rock and roll but also a whole era.
